  4-H Regional forums planned

The Ontario 4-H Council has planned a number of Regional Forums across Ontario to allow 4-H members, volunteers, parents, sponsors and friends of 4-H an opportunity to help design the 4-H program of the future. As well the Council is seeking input on how the program can be delivered.

Key questions that need to be answered are:

-- How 4-H can play a key role in youth development in the next decade?

-- Requirements of volunteers for a successful 4-H Program.

-- Critical success factors Ð How the Ontario 4-H Council will operate in the next decade?

-- The Government role in the future of the 4-H program in Ontario.

-- Ideas and Suggestions to improve success of the 4-H program in the new millennium (program, organization and operating structure).

-- Local 4-H Association Ð What does it take to achieve success?

Two dates are planned for Eastern Region. On June 14th the Regional Forum will be held at the Perth Lions Club. On June 15th the Forum will be held at the Maxville United Church. Forums start at 7:30 pm. All participants must preregister by fax the Ontario 4-H Council at 1-800-937-5161 or by e-mail to jedwards@ntl.sympatico.ca. Deadline for registration is June 5.

All people with a stake in the 4-H program are invited to attend and voice their ideas, opinions and concerns about 4-H. The program has undergone dramatic changes over the last few years and it is important that the Ontario 4-H Council here from the grass root members, volunteers and sponsors. Plan to attend one of these sessions. Your input into the future of the 4-H program is critical for it's success.
