    Critical Dates for Nutrient Management

    Existing large farms (300 Nutrient Units or greater) who are required to submit a Nutrient Management Strategy Plan this year should keep in mind these dates:

    By March 31, 2005

    Farms Units wishing to access the NMFAP funding must complete a Nutrient Management Strategy and submit it for approval to OMAF

    Farms Units specifically planning to use the manure storage section of the funding must include a copy of the five year Nutrient Management Plan to show the land base available for manure application

    By July 1, 2005

    Submit a NMFAP application to the local OSCIA Program Representative to receive conditional approval for funds. A separate application must be submitted for each project

    Farms using the funding for equipment modifications to replace high trajectory manure irrigation guns need to only complete a NMFAP application

    Large existing Farm Units not accessing the funding must submit their Nutrient Management Strategy Plan to OMAF for approval

    By December 31, 2005

    Complete all projects approved, pay all invoices and contact local OSCIA Program representative to arrange for a final project inspection

    Submit claim for final payment with proof of payment included to OSCIA Guelph

    Submit Nutrient Management Plan to receive approval by December 31, 2005

    Deemed appropriate Environmental Farm Plan
