ACC Will Administer Ontario Spring Credit Program
Agricultural Commodity Corporation (ACC) Farmers' Financial will once again administer Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's Spring Credit Advance Program (SCAP) to Ontario producers. SCAP provides interest free loans of up to $50,000 to assist farmers in purchasing inputs for planting. To qualify for the Spring Credit Advance, farmers must insure eligible crops through AGRICORP. The 26 eligible crops include; corn, soybeans, spring wheat, winter wheat, white beans, coloured beans, barley, oats, mixed grain, canola, seed corn, apples, pears, ginseng, garlic, cabbage, carrots, confectionery sunflower, leeks, onions, parsnips, peanuts, potatoes, red beets, rutabagas/turnips, and sugar beets. Loans must be repaid by December 15, 2003 or producers must arrange to transfer the balance of their account to the Advance Payments Program once crops are in storage.
